It began, of all places, over breakfast.
Emmanuel was at a hotel in Dar es Salaam when breakfast was served — and there on the menu was one thing he knew well: Ikijumba. Sweet potato. He had put in a special order, and there it sat, warm and golden on his plate.
Then Cynthia walked over.
Emmanuel looked up — and in that moment, he was captured. Not just by the question, but by the woman asking it. Her beauty stopped him. Then she spoke, and her intelligence and eloquence in every word she chose left him quietly, completely in love before the conversation had barely begun.
He offered her a piece. She went back to her table, brought her own plate, came back, sat down — and took a piece of both his sweet potato and his heart.
From that one unplanned breakfast moment — a question, a shared bite, a spark that neither of them could ignore — a love story was born. One that has grown deeper with every passing day, and brought them here: to the edge of forever, ready to celebrate with everyone who has journeyed with them.
